What is hypnosis and how does it work?
Hypnosis is simply being in an altered state of consciousness much like meditation or daydreaming. When asked, most people associate hypnosis with "being out of it or unaware of what is going on". That couldn't be further from the truth! It's important to keep in mind that you can only be hypnotized if you want to be hypnotized. Under hypnosis you are fully aware, awake yet relaxed and able to communicate easily.
If you have a basic understanding of the mind .. you would know that there is the Conscious mind and the Unconscious (some refer to this as the Subconscious) mind. The conscious mind is the analytical, thinking part of you and the unconscious is the part of the mind that runs the body, stores information, holds all memories and your belief system. Hypnosis simply puts your conscious mind in a relaxed state as to better access the unconscious mind for your growth and development. Just as you would remove weeds from a garden .. in order to grow you have to weed out old patterns and beliefs from your unconscious mind.
Hypnosis is used in a variety of ways such as: weight loss, smoking cessation, emotional freedom, age/past life regression work and confidence builiding, to name a few.
What is a typical session like?
Sessions normally last about 45 minutes. The first session is likened to a consultation where we explore hypnosis, learn about each other and discuss what is best for you! Sessions, thereafter, will be hypnosis sessions and a follow-up conversation about your progress!
Package sessions are recommended for more aggressive goals that require more work and reinforcement.
